Astral Predator
Astral Predator
Week 15
By Kyle (design & code, models, music) · Released
A single-player space shooter set in the real stars of Ursa Major. Mine asteroids, hunt pirates, and haul cargo across 19 star systems, earning the credits that keep your ship flying. Station quest boards offer contracts, and a 25-chapter story leads to the Meridian Gate, the broken link back to Sol. Repair it and fly home.
How to play
- Fly to an asteroid belt, shoot rocks, and scoop up the ore they drop.
- Dock at the station to sell cargo, recharge, repair, and take contracts.
- Fly to a gate and pay the toll to reach the next system.
- Follow the story contracts to find and repair the Meridian Gate.
Desktop: WASD thrusts and strafes and the mouse steers. Left click fires. M opens the map, Q the quest log, E docks and interacts, Escape pauses. · Mobile: Left stick thrusts, right stick steers, and tapping FIRE toggles your cannons on and off. A labeled button appears when you can dock or use a gate.
Why we built this
We started with a single star system and grew it into all nineteen of Ursa Major, each with its own stations, asteroid belts, and pirates. The whole galaxy, ships and rocks included, is baked into the game as plain data, so it runs straight from a folder in your browser. We added the gates, the credit economy, and the story road to the Meridian Gate one piece at a time.
