Shooter Games

Shooter games ask you to keep moving while you fight, and Zorp builds them around a simple pressure: a rifle that overheats if you hold the trigger. Shooters trade the patience of a puzzle game for a straight line: aim, fire, survive. That directness is the appeal, and it carries the whole genre on Zorp so far.

Zorp has one shooter live in this hub: Xeno Patrol, a run-and-gun platformer where a space marine runs, jumps, and fires across a hundred levels of aliens and traps. One game is the honest count today. We would rather say that plainly than dress a single-game shelf up as a catalog.

Zorp is built for players 13 and up. Xeno Patrol carries cartoon sci-fi violence, with aliens bursting apart in pixel effects as you clear each level. The marine carries three hit points and no cushion beyond that, so a careless level can end fast.

The rifle overheats if you lean on the trigger, so timing beats spray. Kyle built the game from a plain premise: a marine who runs, jumps, and shoots aliens. Seven revisions later, the alien roster runs to twenty-one kinds spread across five biomes, from a dusk crash site through acid caves to the hive itself. A new alien type joins the fight every ten levels, and the difficulty climbs with it.

On desktop, the marine moves with the arrow keys or WASD, jumps with Space, and fires with X or J. Holding Up while firing angles the shot upward. Touch players get a joystick on the left and jump and shoot buttons on the right, and the fight plays the same either way. Follow The Signal below and we will tell you when the next shooter lands.

Building next in this genre

Nothing below is live yet. Two more shooters are queued behind Xeno Patrol, and we hold off on release dates until a build is close to done. Both stay inside the run-and-gun family in spirit, even where the pace and the camera change.

  • A sniper shooter. This build slows the pace on purpose, and a steady aim at the right distance matters more than volume of fire. A missed shot costs more here than a wasted clip does in a faster game.
  • A wave-survival shooter. Enemies keep coming in waves, and you hold your ground for as long as you can. Each wave adds pressure rather than a new location, so the whole game plays out on one battlefield.

Common questions

  • What shooter games does Zorp have right now?

Xeno Patrol is the only shooter live right now, a run-and-gun platformer where a space marine fights through a hundred levels of aliens. It runs free in the browser with no download or signup. More shooters are in development and will join this hub once they ship.

  • What is a run-and-gun shooter?

A run-and-gun shooter keeps you moving while you fire. You jump, dodge, and shoot in the same motion, and the pace rewards quick reflexes.

  • Is Xeno Patrol appropriate for younger players?

Zorp is built for players 13 and up. Xeno Patrol carries cartoon sci-fi violence, with aliens bursting apart in pixel effects as you clear each level.

  • Does Xeno Patrol work on a phone?

Yes. Touch controls load on their own, with a joystick on the left and jump and shoot buttons on the right. The action stays above your thumbs so nothing hides behind them.

  • Is Xeno Patrol hard?

The first levels ease you in, then the pace picks up fast. With three hit points and a rifle that needs a moment to cool, you have to time your shots and pick your fights.
