Wisteria House

Wisteria House

Week 07

By Kyle (design & code) · Released

Wisteria House is a cozy story game about one building and the hundred years of tenants who live inside it. You play the house itself. Warm the hearth, creak a stair, or tuck a keepsake under the floorboards. Each choice shows what it moves before you commit, and the wisteria over the walls grows as the decades pass.

How to play

  • Read each vignette. Click, tap, or press Space to reveal the next line.
  • Pick how the house answers. Click a tag or press its number key.
  • Every tag lists what it moves before you commit.
  • Raise the tenant's Bond past the goal before their stay ends.
  • Some chapters ask for keepsakes or for weathering a storm instead. The goal chip at the top shows what counts.
  • Warmth refills when a new tenant arrives. Spend it where it counts.

Desktop: Click to read and choose. Space reads on. Keys 1 to 4 pick a choice. Arrow keys move the highlight. Escape pauses. · Mobile: Tap the page to read on. Tap a tag to choose. The pause chip sits top right.

Why we built this

We shipped the first build and learned players had no idea they were the building. The opening now says so before anyone moves in. A room called the bay window also taught us to proofread our own sentence templates.
