Paper Plains
Paper Plains
Week 10
By Kyle (design & code) · Released
Paper Plains is a one button runner set in a paper craft world. An origami fox jumps, double jumps, and holds to unfold into a paper dart that glides over thorn carpets. Paper cranes fly in at you with a few seconds of warning. One touch crumples the run, and every one of the 100 pages plays the same on retry, so practice sticks.
How to play
- Tap to jump. Tap again in the air to double jump.
- Hold after a jump to unfold and glide. Release to drop.
- Jump the low cranes. Run under the high ones.
- Dodge the thorns. One touch crumples the run.
- Catch paper stars. One stamp unlocks the next page.
Desktop: Click, Space, Enter, W, or Up arrow to jump. Hold the same button to glide. Escape pauses. · Mobile: Tap anywhere to jump. Touch and hold to glide. The corner tag pauses.
Why we built this
We built the glide first. The birds came later, once saw blades stopped making sense in a world made of paper. The five page test build sampled the full hundred, so the pages we tuned by hand are the ones you meet at 1, 25, 49, 73, and 97.

How do I play Paper Plains on my phone?
Open it in your phone browser and turn the phone sideways. The game is landscape and shows a rotate prompt in portrait.

Yes, from the middle pages on. You have one hit point and the late pages expect several tries. Pages never change between attempts, so what you learn keeps.
